The Statue of "Liberty"

Liberty: the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views.

This is the root of my concept; the Statue of Liberty with the robes fallen off symbolizes the society we live in today. We are always trying to fit in with the rest of what society thinks and does.

However, we must be free at times and stand for our own beliefs. We should not act or behave a certain way just to fit in with others and so this drawing is all about exposing our true personalities to society without caring about what others think of you.

The Statue was shaded in colour pencil and the background was shaded in pencil. Emphasis was given to the Statue, hence the colour.

Enjoy! :)
