Animation Demo Reel Spring 2014
While I'm here...might as well post this too.
It's a compilation of some of my best animation work done over the past 2 years (2012-2013) at MUBC.
Enjoy :D
My First Maya Animated Short Film - The Leavened Light
Alright, so if you haven't already seen this, here is the link:
This was released in December 2013, and it was my final film project for my B.Sc. in Animation.
Watch the film in full screen HD with headphones (I've composed and performed the music myself too!) And if you'd like to read more information about the film, read the description box below the YouTube video.
Enjoy guys!
The Awesome New FleX Rig for Maya!
WOW...I am extremely sorry for such a HUGE delay in my posts (it's been over a year since I've last posted anything here)...I know I've been horribly busy, but that is still no excuse to keep updating my blog...so please accept my apologies. Things should get back to normal speed now that my B.Sc. in Animation is completed.
Anyways, I've been working on a character rig for Maya, and I am excited to say that it is finished (for now...). May I present to you the FleX Rig Version 1.0 for Maya (IT'S FREE!)
So for all you animators and riggers and 3D artists out there, you should definitely download the rig and try it out for yourself! Send me a link of your work that you've done with my rig, as I'd love to see what becomes of FleX. I'd appreciate a small citation saying that the "FleX Rig was provided by Nathanael Xavier" or anything along those lines. It's good to give credit where credit is due. :D
That's all for now...enjoy the rig!
(PS: The FleX Rig Version 2.0 will be coming out next month, July 2014, on CreativeCrash.com and will include a plethora of additional features! It will be available for purchase for about $30.00 USD).
Alright, take care :D

Delay...
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to apologize for the HUGE delay with my posts...I know it's been quite a few months now since I've last posted anything here, due to our rather intense and crammed-up workload at college. I am still in the process of finishing my ANIMATION SHORT FILM made entirely in Maya, and I expect to be finished with that [hopefully] by the end of this month [July, 2013]. After that is out of the way, I can assure you that things will be "back to normal" on the blog.
Thanks guys, sorry again for the delay...trust me, it will be WORTH THE WAIT!
[And feel free to check out my YouTube channel as well! www.youtube.com/user/NathanaelXavier/]

Body Mechanics: Push and Pull
Alright, it's been one, crazy, long week, but I finally completed this! I added some basic textures and lighting just to make the scene more "complete."
Saturday 23 March 2013
Body Mechanics: Pool Dive
Finally, after 2 and a half long weeks, it's complete! I wanted to animate an olympic dive but make the ending funny, and voila! I came up with this :)
Body Mechanics: Basball Pitch
[NOTE: There's some pretty loud audio at the end of this video, so adjust your volume accordingly to avoid any damage to your ears!
Experimenting with parent contraints [where an object is parented to a joint of the rig for a certain amount of time]. I worked on this as much as I could before I had to submit it...but still, I know that there's some polishing and fine-tuning to do.
Chariots of Fire - Funny Run Cycle
[If the video doesn't work, you can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmwsgcYQuMc]
Well basically we were instructed to create another run cycle but make it more "unique" and interesting, so that's exactly what I did...it's a kind of flamboyant yet heroic run!
